THIS IS AN ESSENTIAL TUTORIAL TO ADD TO YOUR “TISCHLER” COLLECTION!

This is a jam-packed painting session. Join me in the studio and let’s dive into the process of painting ALLA PRIMA! Our Subject is Wayne, a friend of mine with an incredible look and presence. We’re going to paint him in just ONE SITTING!
In this tutorial I’ll show you how I pose the sitter and set up the subject for maximum impact, focusing on the lighting.
Then, we sketch out our subject, achieving a likeness from the outset.

My goal for every painting is to create the illusion of a 3-dimensional form on a 2-dimensional surface. Here, we’ll discuss how I create a form with a few key colours and strategic brushwork.
